Thanks Rich & MFI.

Rich - what a dream car! And it looks to be the exact same yellow as the previous one.

MFI, the variety of yellow hues in your photo is very pleasing to my eye.

Hi Natalie. That's simply gorgeous!

I went back to around 2000 for this old favorite; did some minor reprocessing a few minutes ago to strengthen the COI. I liked the light & shadows and the details in and around the COI

I remember doing 3 or 4 versions of the original photo, but this one was my favorite.

Thanks Dave and Peter!
Gorgeous bush Peter.
Natalie, beautiful. I like the highlights and composition is great!

Dave, right on...the shadows add interest and depth!

Thanks for the comments....My buttercup was blowing in the wind, I did not get a good shot of it.
Michael, interesting composition....That car almost looks like a paper cut-out.....?
Dave, your intimate florals are perfect! I like your dark backgrounds! That last one is perfect! Love the composition and the detail.
Rich, that's some car! It stands out in a crowd! The second one is unique, too. Wonder why these guys chose that bright yellow, as the original was probably a dull grey.....?
Don, that's a nice, visible fender, mooring buoy or marker. Nice find!
Peter, I do believe we call those straw flowers.....very pretty. And that huge yellow bush, WOW! Is that in the broom family?

RE: May 2024 - Yellow - Dave - 05-09-2024

Thank you, Rich.

Hi Natalie, and thank you. Yes, I seem stuck on flowers against a dark background. But it seems to work so why not stick with it?

Good eye on Michael's yellow car being a paper cut-out. I though it looked to be a 1967 Camaro except that the very front of those cars were rounded on the sides; a paper cut-out could explain that.

Michael, many thanks for resurrecting the Challenges - lot's of interest in those, judging by the number of responses.

The bush is a wattle. Acacia which belong to Fabaceae. As do the broom. Though that is where they both separate. There is an Acacia called broom wattle. Acacia tenuissima

As part of the Australian National Botanic Garden's 40th anniversary celebrations in 2010, we created an amazing and unique display of acacias in the form of a 'phylogenetic' tree.
Based on our research, individual species were grouped at the end of 'branched' pine-bark pathways to denote how closely related they are to one another.
The branching out of the 'tree' indicates splits in evolution of acacias.
A distinct split occurred early in the evolution of the species which now divides them into phyllodinous (phyllodes are broad flat 'leaves') species versus binpinnate ('feathery-leaved') types.
The Acacia Tree of Trees Display lives on as an interactive page on the Atlas Of Living Australia, allowing users to 'virtually' walk through the branched pathways of the tree.

Thanks all. The car is for a kids meal at a local diner, so, cardboard.

Interesting, Peter. You always know your stuff!
Michael, that looks like an upside down duck! LOL!!

RE: May 2024 - Yellow - Rich - 05-10-2024

Thanks Natalie! As you said, they wanted their car to stand out in a crowd so no grey or black.

Michael....quack....quack!
