I think that this is going to be a very good interesting thread. I am already impressed with the varied, unique and interesting subjects.

Dave, I took this photo as I tour a 156-year-old home in my hometown. I was actually a little disappointed because there wasn't much for me to photograph, but I did notice this set up on top of the bureau in the dining room and never had the opportunity to share it until now. And that is what is nice about challenges. Yes, Dave, I did add grunge and some tints to the original.

Dave, I wonder if you would have taken a photo of that cool auto if not for this month's topic. That is really cool and I love your crop. The flat tire adds something to the story too. B&W was a good choice too. More, Dave, more.

Peter, Never thought about digging up some old newspapers, but I am sure I have some of them at the bottom of drawers or closets around here. I am not sure if any of them would be as rare as the ones you shared. I also have some old watches. I know you have more where those came from. That sure is a clean interior to that old watch.

Natalie, It might be an old building but it is still serving a purpose. I see big farm machinery inside. I think someone would like the wood from that barn, it is in real demand.

I can wait to see what tomorrow brings. Whatever it is, it will be one day even older than it is today!

MFI, I enjoyed your photos of the watches. And finding those very old newspapers is remarkable.

Nice photo, Natalie. Definitely could use some rehabilitation and TLC.

Lorell, thanks for the details on the image and your creative technique. Yes, I keep my eyes open for something old on my walks. But I've taken photos of this worn out car before, and posted at least one of them.

WOW!  Some very interesting shots so far!!
My brother and I were talking about working on engines, and how simple older vehicles were to work on. If you look under the hood of todays vehicles...Oh, my!! so complicated! And you have to take the vehicle apart just to change a light bulb head lamp!

The Chevy motors are red and the Fords are blue?

I missed the pad lock challenge

Peter said: The Chevy motors are red and the Fords are blue?

Peter,  Not sure about that, but I bet someone can give us the answer.
I have to confess, I don't know a lot about cars other than I find them to be very fun to photograph.

Natalie,
That's a nice grungy shot with some real eye-poppin' colors.
It is amazing how simple it looks, I wonder where the catalytic converter is?  (I am just kidding now, I hope you know)

Grant, I have been waiting for you to show up.  Now that  is an old trusty rusty  "Master" padlock. A simple composition, but still interesting with all the textures and lines.

Here is another famous name brand from back in the day, also taken at the Upton House where the tea set resides.

A Singer sewing machine.
Made on January 1, 1908, in Elizabethport, N.J.

Well, in Australia the General Motors were red and the Ford were blue.
I simply assumed this was true world wide.

An old lighter.

Michael, how do you do it?
You added MOOD to this image of a simple classic lighter. Great detail in this amazing closeup.

Peter, the motor in my truck was in a ford....
Grant, that lock still works? don't make them like they used to!!
Michael, as Lorell said, great moody shot of a lighter! Don't see many of those anymore!
Lorell, I have an old treadle Singer....they are pretty neat. Your shot sets up a mood, too!

Here's what happens when one building in a downtown area collapses and is removed....a lot of age to this one, too. Wonder how long it will last....in a small town with only a couple dozen downtown buildings, five are already gone ....
