RE: Friday February 18th 2022 - Man From Ironbark - 02-18-2022 my we are all a creative bunch.
RE: Friday February 18th 2022 - Dave - 02-18-2022 Grant, I'm looking forward to seeing your art. Speaking of art, your mom was very talented - I love the mad cow. Rich, thanks for the tip, But I tried that without success. I guess the top 1/4 inch of some tubes was so rock hard that the cap and the tube were permanently welded together. No big deal - almost all of those tubes were of colors I don't plan to use. MFI: yes - lots of talent in this small group, many of whom are skilled and creative in multiple ways. RE: Friday February 18th 2022 - damar - 02-18-2022 That is a beautiful and whimsical quilt, Grant! It looks like it’s wall hanging size too! I’d hang it! It’s applique work..takes time and skill. Love your palette collection too. Beautiful sunrise….pink sky in the morning—- Hi Dave! your sunset photo is beautiful! I open paint tubes with players! But what Rich suggested, helps too! Hi Rich! Uss Drum…wow….excellent photos! Loading torpedoes in such a small space…you can almost feel how cramped that space is. Hi Lorell! Your lighthouse photo is awesome! Excellent composition! A keeper! Hi Peter From Iron Bark! You posted 2 beauties today! Love the sun hanging in the hazy sky, and the sunburst. You are never far from something beautiful in nature. I wish I had some new photos…Just some stuff around the neighborhood ( real snoozers) I do have a few cell phone snaps I’ll post if I don’t get anything over the weekend. RE: Friday February 18th 2022 - Man From Ironbark - 02-18-2022 ![]() There's plenty of ends and beginnings in my archives. RE: Friday February 18th 2022 - Dave - 02-19-2022 Another beautiful photo, MFI. love the soft salmon-colored sky colors; it's glowing. And the purplish clouds near the bottom look great with the sky color. Almost all the trees are leaning to the right. Strong prevailing winds? RE: Friday February 18th 2022 - Luv2shoot - 02-19-2022 Wow, what a great day everyone had here. Awesome photos all. Grant, the ceramic plates would make them easy to keep clean I suppose. They still look brand new. Your mom did an awesome job. Since she was a painter too, she probably designed that quilt herself. Rich, I love all the details that your images revealed. I think I would have a hard time on a sub. I have a bit of a problem with claustrophobia. Dave a beautiful sunset. Are you going to paint it? You sound so excited about your painting adventure you are about to embark upon. I hope you share with us your journey. Patty, It is okay if you don’t have a photo every time. It is alepways nice to see yo drop in especially with your cheerful and positive messages. Peter , That was an excellent finish to an great thread you started Gosh the sky in the finale is beautiful. Thanks, friend. RE: Friday February 18th 2022 - Adamphotoman - 02-19-2022 Dave, I sliced my tubes apart and then reconstituted the paint with distilled water. Then I let them dry out to perform like pans. Here is a shot of various bits. Even colours you won't use often will find their place in the occasional image. RE: Friday February 18th 2022 - Dave - 02-19-2022 Lorell, yes the beach sunset will probably be the first one I try. Nice setup, Grant. I see you use the John Pike palette; so do I - it's the best I've found. And you have a great case for your gear: the palette, a nice brush holder, water bottle and small square cup for water. It's compact but carries everything - very impressive. When daylight arrives I'll try to get some photos of my gear. RE: Friday February 18th 2022 - Rich - 02-19-2022 Grant, what a beautiful quilt! Thanks Patty! Very cramped and claustrophobic for me. Beautiful Peter. Thanks Lorell, me too! Grant, nice gear. Like the travel suitcase! And the purplish clouds near the bottom look great with the sky color. Actually leaning into the prevailing winds. It was an error made by myself. I started planting trees on the west side of my yard, on vacant land(not my land). Problem was I started nearer my fence and over time worked westwards planting more. Like another row each time, each year. This meant that the younger trees had to lean away from the older trees to get light. The plantings were done in the 1980's. I basically ran out of hose length by 1991 qnd the weather was dryiing up. Since then we had a twenty year drought and more than half of the trees died but the still living trees were already leaning. They'll sort themselves out but it will likely be long after I'm pushing up daisies. |
