RE: WhatIzIt ??? - Man From Ironbark - 04-24-2022

Is it part of a mouse or rat trap?

or perhaps the handle of a kettle?

RE: WhatIzIt ??? - Dave - 04-24-2022

No, not part of a rodent trap, (This guess made me smile, and I'm genuinely impressed by how easily some of you can think outside of the box.)

No, not a handle of any sort.

I'll post another photo of the object in a few hours and wait to see if that helps. If not, I'll give a clue that should be useful.

RE: WhatIzIt ??? - Man From Ironbark - 04-24-2022

Oh I've been inside and outside the box.
I can't quite envisage whether the rings are connected to each other or the wire.
This in iself doesn't fit any of the guesses I've offered.

RE: WhatIzIt ??? - Dave - 04-24-2022

Here's the promised side view. You can now see that there aren't separate rings - it's one long coiled piece, attached to the left and right vertical pieces and to the horizontal piece.

Thanks Dave.

A handle for a teapot or maybe a basket?
I was going to guess part of an electromagnet, but it's not quite right for that.

RE: WhatIzIt ??? - Dave - 04-24-2022

Sorry, but not part of a teapot or basket.

You're right that it has nothing to do with an electromagnet.

Is it time for another clue?

RE: WhatIzIt ??? - Quint - 04-24-2022

mole trap spring?

RE: WhatIzIt ??? - Adamphotoman - 04-24-2022

Looks like a spring of sorts

RE: WhatIzIt ??? - Dave - 04-24-2022

Yes, it is kinda springy. But that doesn't describe what the item is or specify what function it performs.

Is it time for a clue?
