RE: WhatIzIt ??? - Quint - 04-21-2022 A clothes pin spring RE: WhatIzIt ??? - Michael - 04-21-2022 (04-21-2022, 07:12 PM)Adamphotoman Wrote: It is a detail from a Grant, that was a tough one. I understand what it is, but, I don't know WHAT it is. Which I am sure makes perfect sense. :-D RE: WhatIzIt ??? - Dreamin - 04-22-2022 Grant, that was very hard because none of us is familiar with that sculpture...I would like to see the whole sculpture if you took a photo of it....definitely interesting! Dave, at first I thought it was a spring to a clothespin, but I see it's not like the springs on my clothespins....more like rings on something....? Still thinking on it. RE: WhatIzIt ??? - Dave - 04-22-2022 No, not a clothes pin spring. RE: WhatIzIt ??? - Michael - 04-22-2022 I know it is not, but, it reminds me of a cricket gate. RE: WhatIzIt ??? - Man From Ironbark - 04-22-2022 Cricket? Do you not mean croquet? Anyway, Dave. Could you turn it from the other angle and show us that side too? RE: WhatIzIt ??? - Michael - 04-23-2022 Probably, a sport Ive never played, though. RE: WhatIzIt ??? - Dreamin - 04-23-2022 I was going to suggest some kind of keyholder......or a restaurant ringed ticket holder or some such device....Maybe if we knew how big it is? as a clue? RE: WhatIzIt ??? - Dave - 04-24-2022 Sorry Natalie, not a keyholder or a restaurant ticket holder. But those are good, imaginative guesses that are on the right track as to the general purpose of the item. Peter also had an imaginative guess that he relayed to me in a PM. Regarding size, the two verticals are about 4.5 inches (11.5 cm) apart and 7 inches (11.75 cm) high. They were inserted into a second part but I disassembled it and replaced that second part with a larger one. Sorry that I didn't get around to posting the requested shot from another angle; I had some other tasks and then forgot to take the photo. I'll do that this morning my time. I thought that this would be an easy one - that's why I asked for any guesses that you are sure of to be via PM. But apparently it isn't as easy as I expected, so don't bother with PMs - just post your guesses here, as usual. |
